European Commission report encourages Federal Government to continue with essential structural reforms
Prime Minister Charles Michel has taken note of the European Commission’s report on the 2015 budget.
The European Commission observed that Belgium had made some progress with regard to the structural part of the Council’s fiscal recommendations. The Commission’s opinion highlighted the need to undertake structural reforms to reduce our debt level.
According to Charles Michel, “the government wants to continue reducing the budget deficit and closing the gap in competitiveness, as well as ensuring the sustainability of social security in our country”.
Finally, the Prime Minister pointed out that the European Commission appreciated the detailed explanations provided by the Belgian government.
